RICHARD BRETT

Richard Brett is an Associate Professor of Cinema at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Holder of Masters Degree in Production from The University of Iowa and Masters of Fine Arts in Broadcasting/Cinema from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, his areas of specialization are film history, theory, and analysis, film and digital production, and screenwriting. He has worked as a production assistant, videographer, video editor, script supervisor, and script reader. One of his early scripts, Time Trap, was optioned by MagnusFilms a Los Angeles production company.

His short futuristic drama Level Five won a CINE Eagle Award, and his short film comedy PANAVOXwon a Regional Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. More recently, his feature-length romantic comedy screenplay Love Is Blind won the A/Exposure Screenwriting Contestout of Los Angeles, the GreenLight Screenplay Contest in Canada, 3rd place in the StoryPros International Screenplay Contest, and 6th Place in ScriptVamp's DreamQuest Screenplay Contest.

Most recently, Love is Blind has been optioned to German film director Marco Riedl, and Brett is currently at work on a new original screen thriller --Time Slip
